Blue Flamingo
Blue Flamingo is the name given to a number of dementia cafes operating around Preston thanks to Erin Singleton and her volunteers. I provide music-making opportunities at two of these cafes.
Blue Flamingo (Penwortham) is open to anyone but accessible for people with dementia and their carers. Sessions take place most Wednesdays. I am usually in attendance on the second Wednesday of the month for a singalong session and often on the fourth Wednesday of the month for the 'mystery session' which features different activities each month. Wednesdays, 12.30pm-2pm at St Teresa's Parish Centre, 34 Queensway Drive, Penwortham PR1 0DS. Free to attend, donations requested.
Blue Flamingo Cafe (Ashton) sessions run most Tuesdays 1pm-3pm at St Michael's Church on Egerton Road. I am typically there on the third Tuesday of each month to lead some drumming followed by a singalong.
