Blue Flamingo
Blue Flamingo is the name given to a number of dementia cafes operating around Preston thanks to Erin Singleton and her volunteers. I provide music-making opportunities at two of these cafes.
The Blue Flamingo Community Choir (Penwortham) is open to anyone but accessible for people with dementia and their carers. We sing simple folk-style songs as well as popular songs mainly from the 60s and 70s. First Wednesday of each month, 2.15pm-3.15pm at St Teresa's Parish Centre, 34 Queensway Drive, Penwortham PR1 0DS. Preceded by the Blue Flamingo dementia cafe from 1pm. Free to attend.
The Blue Flamingo Cafe (Ashton) sessions run most Tuesdays 1pm-3pm at St Michael's Church on Egerton Road. I am typically there on the third Tuesday of each month to lead some drumming followed by a singalong.
